Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are currently in a priority one zip code in our county, for improvements. We are a Title I school, and at 100% free lunch. Our classroom is very culturally diverse.

70% of our students are Hispanic, 10% are African American, 10% Caucasian, and 10% pacific Islanders.

Over 95% of my students come from low income families. Every student receives free lunch in my classroom.

My Project

This year I need some help providing my students with basic supplies to use in the classroom. I have asked for a range of materials from office supplies like tape dispensers, to writing materials like mini pencils, dry erase markers, and dry erase erasers to help my students learn their letters on their whiteboards.

These items will help my students get the jump start they need for a successful school year.

I will need laminating film to laminate child pictures, names, and center labels. I have included Velcro dots and tape to help me label and organize the classroom, for a more cohesive look. I have asked for art supplies like mini markers, mini colored pencils, and tagboard for art projects. Both Kinetic sand and Air dry clay will be used for helping my students develop their fine motor skills and express their creativity.
