Help me give my students the tools necessary to continue their cooking/baking skills. A Kitchen Aid mixer will provide my students with a familiar, useful cooking appliance.
I work with high school students on the autism spectrum in a self-contained 6:1+1 classroom. Our school is located in a large community HS and we are included in many extracurricular activities with the general education population including parties, plays, and assemblies. I teach all subjects with an emphasis on life skills and work readiness.
My students range from ages 17-20 and are on the kindergarten academic levels.
We enjoy working together especially on cooking and baking projects and often get to go out in the community to shop and take walks.
My goal for my students is to provide them with as much love, understanding, acceptance, and academic/work opportunities given to any student so that they grow to their fullest potential. We will be working on functional academics, community awareness, and life/work-readiness skills.
My Project
I work with high school students on the autism spectrum in a self-contained 6:1+1 classroom. Our school is located in a large community HS and we are included in many extracurricular activities with the general education students including parties, plays, and assemblies.
I teach all ELA, SS, and careers/ADL.
My students range in age from 17-20 and are on the kindergarten/1st grade academic level. We enjoy working together especially on cooking and baking projects and often go out in the community to shop and take walks.
A Kitchen Aid mixer will provide my students with the opportunity to prepare a variety of recipes. We also hope to begin fundraising projects in which we sell our baked goods so we can purchase the ingredients and smaller items needed for our recipes.
