I teach 6 students in a high school special education classroom. My students are ages 16-18. I work with the same students for the entire school day. We work on all subject areas as well as vocational skills and life skills. My students are all on the autism spectrum and they are a true spectrum. They all have unique individual needs and I explain to them that each one of us has our own needs and challenges to face. This definitely puts them at ease. We are accepting of one another's needs My goal is to help them become more independent and work on getting a successful job after graduation.
