Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This proposal is being written for my high school vocal students that participate in our Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Choirs. Our high school serves a large urban area and has a high percentage of students that are low-income. Many of these students do not have the opportunity to experience high quality vocal instruction outside of the school setting. It is exciting to see them grow in their knowledge and excitement for vocal music. Many of them will participate in the program for 3-4 years.
By providing students with professional concert programs and flyers, students will be able to fully experience a professional level choir concert. The flyers will be posted around our school advertising how amazing our choir program is. This will teach students marketing and advertising skills that can potentially help them in the future. These flyers will also allow students to get their friends and family involved in choir, whether it be actually joining, or having them come out to the concerts to be supportive of their performances. Advertising our choir program is a team effort because we all need to work together to make sure the whole school community is actively supporting the choir program.

The choir flyers are an important aspect of this project, we aim to provide non-choir students at our school with insight into the amazing work we perform and achieve in choir. We also want to potentially add students to our choir family. By providing our concert supporters with great looking professional programs, our choir is able to fully portray ourselves as serious and hard working. These programs will include insight into all of our hard work, so that the people that show up to our concerts can truly understand all that we put into our performances.
Leadership is a very important aspect of choir at our school. No matter what we are singing or learning, everyone must contribute to put on a great performance. Leadership is important as our choir is very large, and many students need guidance at times. Through leadership, we are able to guide each other and ensure we are all performing at our best possible abilities. Through this project, all choir students will be leading and showing teamwork. This will spread the word around school about our amazing choir program.
This project is important to me because the choir program at my school is a huge part of my overall high school experience. Choir has helped me greatly become acclimated to my high school, and has introduced me to performing, which was formerly something I had never considered before. The choir program is a very important program to our school because we attract so many supporters at our concerts. Thousands of people show up to our shows, so it is important that we do our best. Through flyers, we will be able to attract more students to our choir program, which will allow us to expand and provide more students with the opportunity to be involved in choir. Through the programs, our supporters will be able to recognize the hard work that goes into our performances.
