This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class of 25 Kindergarten students are loving, caring, and hard working. The majority of our class are learning English as a second language. Our school is located in a low income neighborhood, which means many of our students come from low income families. Many of their parents work alternating shifts, so they are unable to consistently help with their child’s education at home. We are building good character in our students, to make them a valuable asset to our community.

My Project

These stools will provide additional seating in our classroom. They will be an extension of our current alternative seating options. The wobble chairs we already have are a huge hit in our classroom, and I expect these to be just as popular! These chairs allow students to wiggle while they work, which improves focus without distracting their classmates. Additionally, when our little bodies are allowed to wiggle and our focus is tuned in, we can learn more effectively. Kindergarten students are very active and developmentally have a short attention span, wiggling helps to lengthen that attention span. Your help in acquiring these stools would be greatly appreciated by our little friends!
