Help me give my students opportunities to problem solve and work on important skills so easily forgotten.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My 1st graders all come from low income families. Spending money on necessities like shelter, clothing and food first, leaves little left over for the extras at home like puzzles. They absolutely love working on puzzles together. They love the challenge and are so excited with their accomplishment once they complete it. Puzzles are so developmentally beneficial to their growing little brains. Puzzles help develop problem-solving skills by finding the correct space for each piece, help with cognitive skills by increasing visual-spatial awareness and concept development. Puzzles also improve fine motor skills by grasping and manipulating small pieces. And most of all they have fun doing all of this with their friends!
After 20+ years of teaching, my puzzles have taken a beating!
Please help me give my class an update on a fun activity.
