My Students
Wouldn't it be great if you could see the tiny organisms in a drop of pond water? My students will be studying microorganisms this year and they would like to be able to do just that!
My students come from a small rural community in Utah where a high percentage is Hispanic.
Our school is a small elementary school where most of the students receive free or reduced lunch because of the high poverty level. My students are all eager to learn and deserve the same education as students who attend schools in more affluent areas.
My Project
My students need two microscopes to use in our study of microorganisms. This year we will be studying microorganisms and their effect on our lives. We will be exploring the diversity of different bacteria and why some are helpful while others are harmful. A great way to study microorganisms is with a microscope. Unfortunately, microscopes are expensive and our school does not have the resources to provide this valuable resource. This tool will help them to understand these complex scientific concepts and help them to love science.
By donating to our project you will be providing my students and many others in the future with a great introduction to the world of microorganisms and the exciting world of science.
Students that have the opportunity to experience science in a hands-on environment are more likely to enjoy it and want to pursue science-related fields. We need your help to make this happen.
