Help me give my students headphones so a lot of interactive sites for reading and math that interest my students are accessible to them and I will be able to ensure their academic growth.

My Students

The students in my class are part of a large urban city school building that has 98% children on free and reduced lunch and 48.8% with special education needs.

My students are eager to learn and full of questions!

They struggle in basic reading and basic math skills. They love to learn through direct instruction and then practice basic skills in computer lab on various free online research based programs. They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!

Many students in my classroom come in saying they have difficulty completing practice assignments at home because of lack of supplies and resources. I try to give them practice at school in our computer lab.

Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options. They always want to know more.

My Project

It will allow my students to work independently.

Computer based programs help my students attend better and learn faster and practice longer.

They will be able to listen to the instruction that is already programmed in the reading and math programs in our lab.

They will become fluent with basic facts and learn to navigate different interactive sites.

It allows for differentiation and my students will learn at their individual pace.

They will use headphones to access the various research based interventions that are online like Free Rice.com, starfall.com, fcrr.org student activities, Khan academy, Reading A to Z, and other sites. District has purchased several site licenses but without headphones my class cannot use it.
