Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

There is nothing greater than to see a young child curled up with a good book. My classroom is filled with good books, but nowhere to curl up. I teach first grade in an inner-city school. Teaching first grade is all about reading. I read to them, we read together, we read as partners, we read individually. I would love to have a more comfortable spot for my students to read on their own. This independent reading time is crucial in developing confidence in this area. Currently, our classroom has comfortable seating for two. These three bean bag chairs would allow for greater opportunity for my budding readers to curl up with one of their favorites.
