My classroom is located in a high need community and my students are primarily 11th and 12th graders. We have recently been connected to the Internet, but everything is not quite as it should be.
When the classrooms was connected to the Internet, every room was given one Ethernet drop. Unfortunately, this means that the currently desktops in the room (most rooms have two student computers) can not be connected to the internet, as we do not have the resources to connect wirelessly.
These network switches are a simple way for us to turn one computer jack into a connection to up to 5 computers. While most of our rooms don't have this many computers yet, we certainly hope they will in the future!
While most of us take using the Internet for granted, many of our students have no access at home. Being able to use the internet in school will be an amazing experience for them, but it won't work if there is no way to connect them. Please consider helping us so that we can give our students what they need!
