Help me give my students the opportunity to have artistic photos taken by a professional photographer. We would like to provide our students with the ability to have headshots, action shots, and video taken for resumes/auditions.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
“To watch us dance, is to hear our hearts speak.” This Hopi Indian proverb perfectly summarizes how our students feel about expressing themselves as young artists. Dance is more than a form of exercise; it is a means to mentally and emotionally have an outlet to heal and discover themselves. Our students come from diverse socio-economic backgrounds and cultures, yet they are united by their passion for dance. Although we are a Title I performing arts school, students come from all over the city to receive the opportunity to explore and refine their academic and artistic skills. The dance academy strives to provide a safe and supportive environment while developing self-confidence, discipline, and respect. We inspire a lasting love and appreciation for dance.
My Project
One of the most important things for dancers are photos. Often times, dancers are hired off of photography submissions with no auditions. Headshots and z cards represent the dancers once the audition is over and remind the casting directors of the impression the dancer left.
We would like to bring in a professional photographer who can provide images for our dancers to use to book jobs.
Often times, professional photographs are extremely expensive and inaccessible for young dancers. Your funds will directly pay for a photographer professional fees.
We hope to expand our students' education by furthering their access to professional artists in the area as well as providing them with the tools needed to excel as working dancers after high school. All students deserve equal opportunity to reach their goals and cultivate their passion. By funding this project, you will provide our students with an experience they will need to excel beyond the classroom and into the real world dance community. We hope you'll consider us today!
