My students need soccer, basket, and tetherballs to have several play options during our P.E. time. We also need a sports ball bag to keep our equipment safe.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Every day, regardless of the challenges in their lives, my students work relentlessly hard to become conscious and justice-oriented individuals. They use their skills to eliminate the various systems of oppression that keep them and their families from achieving their full potential.
My class is a group of passionate, funny, freedom-fighting and inquisitive kids who want to use their knowledge to improve the City of Richmond.
Our students' daily lives are full of adversity. At our school, one hundred percent of students qualify and receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of our students face many challenges at home; however, this does not get in the way of their success. Instead, they remain perseverant and continue to strive and achieve excellence.
My Project
"Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity." - John F. Kennedy
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), physical exercise promotes psychological well-being and can help students achieve academic greatness.
In my experience, when kids get to play and release their energy during recess and P.E. they come back to class ready to learn.
Currently, our school is in dire need of athletic equipment. We have six tetherball poles but only one tetherball that works. We have one soccer ball and four basketballs for 420+ students. My students love soccer; however, most of the time they have to use a basketball or volleyball to play their "soccer" game. My students would be overwhelmed with joy if they had the appropriate equipment to play the games they love. Lastly, a ball bag will help us keep our equipment safe and sound for many days to come.
