My Students
Brass instruments sound so powerful. Students enjoy learning to play the trumpet and trombone. They are fun to play and can make beautiful music. The students want to learn how to play the trumpet and trombone, but they need access to the instruments in order to learn how to play them.
The students at our school are into music.
They enjoy listening to music, singing, playing instruments, reading about music, and creating music. We are located on a military base, yet we are a public elementary school. Our student population comes from the neighborhood surrounding the school.
My Project
These instruments will be used by students learning how to play them for the first time. They will get the opportunity to practice this instrument at home and perform it in our class band during the school day. Students in future years will be able to use this instrument to play in the band. Since our school deals with students coming and going to and from other military installations, these instruments will be played by multiple students in one school year.
The students lives will be enriched by the experience of playing music. They will learn how to produce sounds and play music by reading a form of notation that works best for their learning style. They will be able to perform on-stage with their grade level peers and play a show.
By supporting this project, you will help get a trumpet and trombone into the hands of a fourth grade band student.
They will learn how to play songs and feel good about their new skill as a musician. We are increasing our outreach of music education at our school. With your help, we are able to provide the resources that our students need to learn how to play music. Having a brass section is an important part of concert bands. I want our band to have that rich sound.
