I am so lucky to be a reading teacher! I get to teach my students one of the most fun things they will ever learn! They get so excited every time they can read or do something new! In order to keep the excitement going in my classroom, I use lots of cross curricular connections. One of my favorite subjects to incorporate into reading is science, and we love to grow things with our hydroponic garden! I want to keep the excitement alive in my classroom!
We have a huge hydroponic garden system in our classroom and need a few things to help us with our gardening.
I am requesting a seed organizer box, rooting hormone, a set of kitchen/plant shears, a carpet sweeper and stopwatches for our classroom garden project. The seed organizer is to help us keep all of our seeds sorted so we know what to plant. The rooting hormone is to start brand new plants. The kitchen shears is to prune and take cuttings of the plants we already have growing. The carpet sweeper is to clean up after we take our cuttings and eat our yummy veggies. The stopwatches are to help us time each other while we practice our garden sight words for fluency practice! We are super excited about this project and appreciate any help that you can give!
