This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a first grade ESE teacher. I have 18 students and several of them are on IEPs for various reasons. They are active and creative learners.

I love working with ESE and below level students, because of the growth and progress, you see at the end of the year.

My students come from various backgrounds and all learn quite differently. There is a lot of movement in my room so my creative thinkers can use their skills to shine!

My Project

Our school does not have a reading curriculum and buying books for guided reading and center time can get costly. With the new age in technology and all the amazing websites kids can go on to read books I think tablets would be great to use in the classroom. I would use the tablets for guided reading to access leveled readers or to use as a technology read to self center where the students can listen to stories. It will have many different uses and the students will love getting on them. The four laptops in our room just isn’t enough for technology use.
