My students need an Introductory Glass Slumping Kit and 2 sets of Glass Slumping Supplies.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Keir's classroom raised $446
This project is fully funded
I am requesting materials to fund a glass studio to use with my 220 students from Kindergarten through the Eighth Grade. I am a Visual Art Teacher at a public school with an arts integrated curriculum. Our school is a typical urban public school, a lively, under resourced institution, where 45% of our students are eligible for the federal free lunch program.
Unfortunately, this year our school has a tiny arts budget, which has severely limited the kinds of learning experiences I can offer my students. Unfortunately, California rates 50th in per capita spending on students, therefore I'm reaching out to ask for funding to supplement the basic materials I'm currently able to offer my students, in order to diversify their educational experiences.
The quality and diversity of materials I'm able to use with my students sends my kids a loud message: your art is valuable. This is the message I want to communicate! The materials I'm seeking will afford my students the opportunity to work with quality materials that supports their learning and experimentation in the arts.
My students are fascinated with glass and are studying the Middle Ages, these materials will bring this historical era to life for my students. Right now our arts budget only allows for very basic materials, these resources will change that situation and significantly enliven our classroom.
Your support will make a difference in the lives of children who ordinarily do not have opportunities to learn about the arts, specifically working in glass!
Sincere thanks for considering my proposal!
