I am requesting materials to fund a glass studio to use with my 220 students from Kindergarten through the Eighth Grade. I am a Visual Art Teacher at a public school with an arts integrated curriculum. Our school is a typical urban public school, a lively, under resourced institution, where 45% of our students are eligible for the federal free lunch program. Unfortunately, this year our school has a tiny arts budget, which has severely limited the kinds of learning experiences I can offer my students. Unfortunately, California rates 50th in per capita spending on students, therefore I'm reaching out to ask for funding to supplement the basic materials I'm currently able to offer my students, in order to diversify their educational experiences.
