My students need 18 fiction and nonfiction books about sloths so we can compare the texts while learning facts like: Sloths grow algae on their fur!

My Students
With 8 grade levels and a very limited budget, I often have to supplement my lesson materials with trips to the public library. The books I used for a fiction v. nonfiction unit on sloths were such a hit, my students wanted to check them out and take them home.
Unfortunately, since they weren't school library books, the kids couldn't enjoy them outside of library class.
I'd love to have the books in stock for my students, who soaked up facts so enthusiastically and screamed "Hurry, Sloth!" with such urgency during a readaloud.
My Project
Students in preschool, kindergarten, and grade 1 will be able to compare nonfiction (Real sloths can't walk, but they're great swimmers.) and fiction (Real sloths don't live in houses or talk on the phone.) with these books. They really enjoy learning about animals, so presenting information about an unusual one piques their interest. First-graders even learned how to take notes as I read two different nonfiction books aloud, and peppered a teacher who came into the library to get something off the printer with facts that amazed him!
Having this collection of fiction and nonfiction books about sloths in the library will allow my students to share the facts and stories we discuss in class with their families at home.
