This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is a buzz of activity, focused on giving kids the opportunities that they may not get elsewhere. My 3rd-grade class is in a high-need, low-income public school, nestled in the heart of Southern California. Each of the students in my class is a vibrant, excited learner who looks for the next opportunity to gain knowledge.
Each child in my classroom is a unique learner who comes to school each day ready to achieve at the highest levels.
As a teacher, it is my job to make sure the students have access to the materials they need, at all times, as well as use those materials in a way that will facilitate higher learning and achievement.
My Project
During Distance Learning the first time around, I found it difficult to see all of my students' facial expressions, work shares, and other things held up to the Zoom screen because the monitor on my laptop was just too small.
With this larger monitor, I will be better abled to reach my students to meet their needs.
I will be able to see them much more closely, mimicking what it would be like to be with them in the room. It will help build connections and make our learning more focused and personal.
Having a larger monitor on which to view the Zooms will enable me, as the teacher, to better serve my students over Distance Learning. Then, once we are back in the classroom, they will be able to use this same monitor for a myriad of different technology related tasks. They can use it in our stop motion center, when working with our robots in class, and so much more! There is no end to how useful this monitor will be!
