My students are eager pre-kindergartners, and this classroom is their first school experience. They are part of a Title I school with the majority qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch. Most are English language learners with Spanish being their home language.
Children today learn in many different ways, and teachers must discover these ways.
"If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn." Ignacio Estrada
The best way to do this is with hands-on activities.
My budget has been cut by over half, and I want to be able to provide the same experiences that most little ones get to experience in preschool. Due to a lack of funding, it is very hard to be able to provide my students with these materials.
With early intervention and more opportunities, these children will become better students, who develop a love for learning earlier.
My Project
I miss seeing my students smile! My students miss seeing me smile!
This Smart Photo Frame will give me the opportunity to share with everyone in class, what we look like when we smile.
Pre-k is suppose to be a time where my students can see each other smile and have fun. While we are wearing masks, it is very hard for them to do that. This smart photo frame will allow me to take pictures of all my students and share with them things that make us happy every day. I want to help connect my students to each other and to the world around them in fun and new ways while inviting families inside the classroom. This project would allow me to do this with the help of technology.
