This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come from one of the poorest neighborhoods in our area, where all of our students qualify for a free or reduced-price lunch. Our school is a K-8 entity with 99% of the population a minority. State funding per pupil is less than a public school, which means fewer materials for the school community. We work hard as a team: the teachers, students, families, as well as outside community members work to provide the best education for the children.
Everyone in our building believes we can get the best out of our students and provide them with the resources needed to be successful.
Whatever they may be unable to get at home, we do our best to provide them with at school, often through purchases out of our own pockets because we use whatever means necessary for our kids.
My Project
My students are fully virtual learners. We need to provide them with headphones which would allow them to focus on their lessons.
There are many distractions when learning from home which effect my students each and every day.
Headphones will allow them to drown out the sounds around them and focus on the lesson being presented on their screens.
These headphones have a built in microphone so they can still participate and speak up during class discussions, the design is such that they can be safely folded and stored at the end of each school day.
