Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from economically disadvantaged families. Over 85 percent of our students qualify for federal food assistance programs. My school is a STEM school which has limited funds and we receive no funds from the school for athletic programs. My assistant coach and I do not receive any financial stipends and do this on our own time.
We are looking for funding to be able to provide essential soccer equipment.
Our dedicated staff takes a personal interest in helping our students succeed not only academically but socially and emotionally as well. It is our goal to produce well-balanced, productive young adults that have the tools they need to be responsible, contributing members of society.
My Project
With your help, we will be able to replace our cheaper soccer balls, that are all damaged and unusable after only 2 months. We need these quality soccer balls, in hopes of having them last a few seasons.
We don't need a lot of equipment for soccer, but quality and portability are what we are looking for.
A portable goal will be a great tool for our goalkeepers to be able to train, and our offense to practice shooting, penalty kicks, corner kicks, etc.
It will create a more "game like" setting for training. Portability allows us to set up and take down quickly.
