Help Us Rock the Classroom With Some New Supplies

Help me give my students the opportunity to understand rocks and minerals by exploring them in real life and the ability to work out math problems around the room on their whiteboards.

My Students

I teach at a Title I-funded school, and my students have very diverse backgrounds. Some of my students have very rough lives outside of school, so my goal is to make my classroom their safe space. I would like to provide additional learning tools and games that will help them be successful in 4th grade. My goal is for my classroom to be a place where they can leave their baggage at the door and simply focus on learning and having fun!

My Project

We have text books and the internet, but there is no better way to learn than by doing. The rock and mineral kits will allow my students to observe and analyze rocks and minerals to categorize them. This will help them better understand the different characteristics of rocks and minerals and help them realize what amazing things are out their beyond our classroom doors.

My students love to work problems out on their dry erase desks or work on whiteboards around the room.

It helps make learning more fun and engaging for the kids!
