This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I currently have 56 students in my fourth-grade class. My students are great students who have a love for technology, reading, writing, science, math, and social studies. They are very excited about learning, and I want to make the class interactive. I want to help them succeed in their challenging environment. I teach an inclusion class. I have four students that are autistic in my class.
The students in my classroom are a diverse group of children who come from intricate family backgrounds.
Our school is located across the street from two homeless shelters for families. It is an upstart program that helps students and their families get help to find permanent housing. I teach at a low-income school and in a classroom full of eager learners who are enthusiastic about coming to school every day!
My Project
We are returning from Winter break. My students need basic supplies so that they can continue to learn. My students bring supplies in the beginning of the school year, but they have a hard time replenishing them at this point in the school year. I would like for my students to have what they need when they return back to school.
Learning must still take place even though my students don't have access to the basic supplies to learn daily in our reading, writing and math classes.
I want my students to have what they need in order to learn in our classes daily. They will decorate their new interactive reading journals and they need glue to paste down their daily activities. The writing instruments are used so that my students can check their work after they have completed it independently in our class daily.
