This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our classroom of 16 students with special needs lacks the technology resources necessary to actively engage and visually stimulate the special and unique manner in which they learn. Their instruction calls for both visual and auditory input. Technology is an effective tool to ensure that this done: wouldn't you feel empowered to be the one to provide these valuable tools for them? You can do this by supporting our technology needs!

My class consists of 16 highly motivated special needs learners.

50% of them are English language learners and all fall below the national poverty line. In spite of all these setbacks they remain highly motivated and active participants in the educational process. They truly desire to become the best, and as an educational community it is my hope that everything is done so that they can ultimately achieve their goals as well as self-imposed goals for a better life and an education equal to that of their non-disabled peers.

My Project

I teach 16 third through sixth grade students with special needs. Although most classrooms throughout California are equipped with computers, iPads, and printers, my classroom lacks the technological advances necessary to enhance instruction, as well as student motivation and engagement. I have requested a Galaxy Tablet and a printer. These resources will allow my students visualize concepts and ideas being taught thereby aiding in overall understanding and mastery of information by allowing instruction to encompass multiple intelligences. Most of my students have had previous unsuccessful learning experiences, and are performing significantly below grade level. I know that the use of technology will assist my students in meeting their individualized educational goals. This will provide the needed boost to my students' motivation, build their self-esteem, and allow them believe that they too can have successful educational experiences.

Every concept my students master gives them a sense of self-worth and allows them to dream bigger.

When you donate money to my students you are potentially changing a life by providing a picture that is worth a thousand words. When a student has had unsuccessful learning experiences, their self-esteem is crushed. We as an educational community must then provide even more opportunities for them to succeed and build self-esteem.
