The students in my class come from many different backgrounds. There are several languages spoken in our school. Each of my students brings something special to our classroom and we learn so much from each other. More than half the students in our school are on free and reduced lunch and come from low-income households. In our school, we also provide breakfast in the classroom which has helped students remain focused while learning.
My Project
Recently teachers have been given the opportunity to participate in professional development that will help improve reading instruction. I am asking for magnetic whiteboards, markers, and magnetic letter tiles to use during small group instruction. These materials will be used for teaching blending, letter/sound recognition, and spelling skills. I am asking for headphones with microphones to use with out Imagine Learning program. This program helps students improve speaking and listening skills as well as reading skills, so these headphones are a must. Finally, I am asking for glue sticks to use with our sound sorts because I have run out and we use them daily!
