My school population consists of a lot of English Language learners who have not had the benefit to experience the wonderful learning that can take place through technology. Many of the families are on free or reduced lunch and are just struggling to support their families. Many times students start school not even knowing the alphabet or struggling to speak the English language. Although many of the families struggle with academics and finances, most of the parents are very grateful for teachers and for any opportunities for their children to learn. At my school we do not have a very successful rate with parents using the computers to sign up for parent/ teacher conference or taking advantage of grade book or the teacher and school website, Because of this, I feel like the students could totally benefit from some fun educational apps. .
