Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come to school every day excited to learn! My school is a Title I school with 92.9% of students coming from low-income families. There is a high percentage of Latinos at my school. I teach students who are learning English as a second language.

My students may come from low-income homes, but they are motivated to do well in school, and they enjoy learning!

I teach 3rd through 8th grade Special Education. My students have various disabilities including Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, Emotional Disturbance, ADHD, Other Health Impairment, and Learning Disabilities.

My Project

Many of my students struggle with their reading readiness skills. My students would benefit from reading comprehension practice cards to boost their comprehension. My students need fiction sight word readers to target sight words. My students would benefit from 'Touch & Read' phonics cards to help master CVC words. My students could also use 'phonological awareness learning puzzles' to work on beginning, middle, ending, and rhyming sounds.

My students are so close to being able to read, they just need an extra boost!

My students would benefits from hands-on materials. Therefore, puzzles and reading cards would help them stay engaged.
