This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a kindergarten special education teacher in a Title I school. Kindergarten is such a vital year in a child’s education. We are working together each and every day to grow academically, socially, and independently. My students are visual learners and make the greatest achievements when we use technology to optimize their learning experiences. In using technology, I am able to peak the students interest and engage them in the lesson.
I work with a terrific group of children who are from very various backgrounds. They are eager to learn and I know that the emerging I- touch technologies will add a new dimension to that program and allow me to find individualized instruction using different applications available within iTunes. I know that this will greatly add to our classroom environment. My students are overcoming obstacles each day. They are a truly inspiring group to work with and I want to be able to help each child reach his or her full potential.
We are definitely living in difficult financial times. School budgets are being cut and the needs of all of the students are unable to be met. This terrific group needs an environment that supports hands on learning. The I-touch would allow them this opportunity.
Throughout the day students rotate through various reading, writing, and math centers. The students are most engaged when the center involves technology. We currently have two computers in our classroom. The I-touch would add a new and exciting dimension to our reading centers. It would greatly help promote literacy and literacy skills. These students are emerging readers and are eager to continue building upon their skills. The I-touch would allow students to listen to books, practice their writing and play various games to build upon these literacy skills.
The impact that this project will have on my students' educational experience is tremendous. We truly appreciate your generosity.
