Our classroom is a safe learning space for ten wonderful elementary aged children with special needs. We strongly value embracing one another's differences and encouraging one another to push ourselves to achieve our best despite our differences. Our school, volunteers, and teachers have done a wonderful job of including our students in extracurricular activities, on the playground, and during after school programs.
My Project
Our Functioning Life Skills classroom is a second home to special needs students that were struggling with multitasking and focusing even before the pandemic. Having to transition into at-home learning during the COVID-19 outbreak pushed us all into making changes to accommodate the new routine, but with most of our students having to stay home with working parents and other at-home learning siblings, focusing on schoolwork has never been more difficult.
To ensure that our students have an environment at home that is as accommodating as it is at school, we are asking for headphones with mics and wireless mice.
The headphones and microphones will allow our students to participate in zoom calls more easily, while the wireless mouse will help them with their motor skills and hand-eye coordination while practicing the life skill of working on a computer.
