My Project
The California Young Reader Medal is an award given every year to books that are voted on by students. It promotes recreational reading and encourages student choice.
My students love to read, and I would love to give them the chance to take home their favorite book from our book club.
We will be reading each of the three nominees, and I'd like to have enough copies of each book so that many students can participate. At the end of the book club (after everyone has gotten a chance to read all three books), students get to vote on which one they think should win the award. Students then get to take home their own copy of whichever book was their favorite.
This book club was very successful last year, and I would love to continue it! I am starting with ten of each book so that there will be enough to go around and for students to take home.
