it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you love to read? Do you have shelves full of books? Well my 1st graders LOVE to read as well! We have acquired lots of books for our classroom library and need a way for them to last a very long time!
We are a hard-working 1st grade class in a high-need elementary school in Maryland.
We spend a lot of time reading and are working to become great readers! Many of my students come from low-income homes where they do not have access to ample reading materials; therefore, our classroom library is often their main source of books.
My Project
I have worked very hard to build a large classroom library filled with quality children's literature, often spending my own money to purchase books. In order to utilize these classroom books to the fullest, we need some way to organize and maintain them so that they last for years to come.
A book organizer, like the one I'm requesting, would enable my students and I to organize our books into categories, help the students to find books that they are interested in and able to read, as well as help ensure that the books do not get bent, torn or ruined unnecessarily.
A love for books is such an important, life-long skill.
Like the saying goes: Reading can take you anywhere! Your help will enable my students to continue to foster this love of reading for many years to come.
