Do you remember when you were in the First Grade? Do you remember all the nice things in your classroom? Well, I want my students to have that memory of my classroom. My students need different materials for our classroom, so it can be one for them to always remember.
My First Grade Rockstars are one of a kind!
They are eager explorers wanting to know more about the world around them. They are at the age where they are very curious and they want to know more about everything. The main question they always ask is why? They are very playful, outgoing, and love to come to school and hate for the weekend to come because they will be away from their friends and teachers, their home away from home.
My school is a great place for any child who wants to come to school to attain a great education. It is an arts integrated school which provides art, music and dance to every single student each day. We focus on our DRIVE Values: Determination, Respect, Integrity, Voice, and Engagement. Our school is where not only is the staff happy to come to work every day but our students are happy to be there, too.
My Project
The resources, including library bins, supplies caddies, student mailboxes and lap desks, that I am asking for in my classroom will help my students gain organizational skills to become successful after the First Grade. These materials will help my students gain a sense of ownership, as well as responsibility; which are two great life skills.
In addition to the materials we are requesting, we ALSO want to keep our classroom organized. Therefore, we are asking for an Easel to help us do small group work. Small group work is essential in every classroom. Every student deserves to have differentiated instruction. This Easel will help my students have access to this type of instruction. The Easel will give us the ability to demonstrate the lesson and other key concepts in smaller groups.
If this project is funded for my classroom it will improve my students' lives in so many ways.
Most significant, my students will be given the opportunity that can change their outlook on their education. It will allow the students to learn the importance of being organized and why it is essential to their lives to have a quality education.
