My Project
I am a special education teacher at Fair Oaks Elementary School in Pleasant Hill, California. Every day, I have the privilege of working with an incredible group of 4th and 5th-grade students with diverse learning needs. We serve a diverse group of students, most of whom come from low-income households. Together, we strive to create a classroom where every child feels valued, inspired, and empowered to express themselves.
This coming school year, I am excited to launch a new initiative to introduce my students to the world of photography and the arts.
Many of my students experience the world in unique ways, and creative expression can be a powerful tool for building confidence, communication skills, and self-esteem. Through photography, they can share their perspectives, tell their stories, and discover new ways to connect with others.
However, we currently lack the equipment needed to make this vision a reality. That’s why I am reaching out to ask for your support. We are seeking donations to purchase digital cameras and other media equipment that could help our students explore photography and artistic expression.
Your generosity will help provide our students with hands-on opportunities to learn, create, and shine. With your support, we can give every child the chance to see themselves as artists and storytellers.
