My Project

I teach reading at my school. My students are hardworking, energetic, and creative first graders. I love the diversity of my school and the family atmosphere. My students cheer each other on and celebrate differences while promoting teamwork! I work in a unique and special building that just celebrated 50 years! I am looking for creative ways to decorate my room while maintaining the building’s character.

My students take pride in our building and its one-of-a-kind features; it used to be an open-concept school, so we face unique challenges when decorating the classroom (such as a large concrete pole in the middle of the room!) My students thrive when they have visuals such as anchor charts to remind them of classroom procedures, important phonics rules, and the vocabulary words we are learning.

Many types of traditional tape do not work on my classroom walls. Mavalus tape and command hooks are two tried and true “sticking methods” that will work on my classroom walls without damaging them. Help me give my students these tools to help our learning stick!
