Things aren't always as simple as A, B, C, especially when you are trying to learn the alphabet in kindergarten. I teach kindergarten in a California school. A majority of the students come from families with a low socioeconomic status. Also, a majority of the students are learning English as a second language.

Working in a low income school means that parents do not have money to donate to help buy supplies to enrich the students' learning. With recent budget cuts it is also hard to receive any funding to buy outside supplies to help the students learn in a new way. The students in my classroom will be coming in August with little or no experience with English and I am working to have them reading and writing in English by the end of the year.

I need your help. I want my students to have a fun, hands-on way to help them learn the sounds of the English alphabet and practice vocabulary at the same time. These would be great for students to use to help them identify letter sounds, sort letter sounds, and learn vocabulary. The alphabet sound tubs come with a variety of objects that start with each letter of the alphabet. For example, the Bb tub may have small items such as a bear, bee, ball, button, etc. There are 26 tubs each with 6 small items and plastic uppercase and lowercase letters. It would take me years to collect enough small items to make these tubs myself and some things are just too hard to find in a small enough size.
