This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students love to draw, paint, design, inspire. Any tool they find becomes a useful mark making utensil. Lines, Shapes, Colors. You name it, they draw it! We are currently limited by the art supplies we have available.
My students could use some inspiration in the form of bright and colorful markers that could be used to help them express their thoughts and creative ideas.
We are currently limited to pencils, crayons, and paint. My students will never complain for the lack of bright strokes, but I can see how they yearn to use a tool that will make beautiful shades and tones of different hues. Markers are just the tool they need. We are requesting a class set for each of the grade levels I teach. I want my students to draw their hearts out and decorate our school and community with bright artwork that will put a little light in our dimly colored world. My students could use some fine tip markers for details, chisel tip for broad strokes, and some paint markers to cover some areas where inevitable mistakes happen!
