My Project

I am requesting books to adapt for use with the students with autism on my caseload. These books will be specially adapted to help them learn how to answer questions, something that can be challenging for many children on the spectrum. I’m working on adapting books for my students by adding questions to the pages and using picture cards to provide multiple-choice answers. These picture cards will be Velcroed to the pages, allowing the students to easily choose and attach their responses. This hands-on approach helps them practice answering questions and improves their communication skills in a way that feels engaging and accessible. Your donation will help me create these interactive, personalized learning materials that make a big difference in their ability to communicate effectively.

These books will help them practice responding to questions in an engaging, supportive way that meets their unique learning needs.

I’ve already created a few adapted books for my students, and I’ve seen great progress as they’ve used them. These books have helped them to learn how to answer different types of questions independently. With your support, I can add even more books to the collection, giving my students the opportunity to choose which ones they want to read. Having a wider selection will not only keep them engaged, but allow them to have favorite books.
