My students need 30 write and wipe pockets and markers to have communication boards to practice multiplication facts at home. This way, I could send home just one sheet, and they could reuse it!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I remember struggling to learn multiplication facts when I was in third grade. I see the same struggles and frustrations with my students. Besides flash cards, I think using these erasable communication boards could be another resource to help my students. It's also helping us be green!
My students are hardworking and have a passion for math.
Unfortunately, they have limited resources. The students in my classroom are mostly English Learners and I have small group on IEPs or in Special Education. We are in California and the school is located in a predominately Latino community. They're great kids with big hearts.
My Project
In Social Studies, we are learning about different ways we could help our community and "Going Green" always comes up during our discussions. One of the most important standards a third grader must learn is multiplication. By using these communication boards, students can reuse multiplication worksheets that I provide for them as many times as they need to. They're also great for handwriting. I currently have some in my classroom that we use and I see how motivated they are to practice on them. I want to keep motivating them by providing this resource at home.
I'm always looking for creative ways to motivate and inspire students.
Using these communication boards turns any assignment exciting and safe because students can easily wipe away any mistakes. By providing students with a communication board they could keep and use at home, they will be motivated to practice while helping our environment.
