My students need a Chromebook in order to learn while moving around. They are very active and have short attention spans. I want to ensure they are successful in this century's learning environment.
I teach in a Title One school district that is over 65% low income families. Our school district is wonderful, but limited on funding resources. Most of my students are raised by a single parent or guardian. My students are very active and eager to learn. However, many of my students are hindered from learning due to his or her inability to sit in a confined area for a period of time. Most activities in our small reading groups require the students to sit at a desk top or share the Chromebook in order to access to the internet.
My active students would love the opportunity to learn and engage in activities at their most comfortable location in the classroom.
Giving the students the freedom to choose where they learn promotes a more positive and rewarding learning experience to all.
My Project
The use of a Chromebook and desktop in my classroom is almost a daily activity, especially in small reading groups. My class has the privilege to engage in programs that promote and enhance reading. The students use the Chromebook or desktop to read articles and and write summaries about them while in small group. They also use technology to read texts and answer questions relating to the texts. With the use of these programs, I am allowed to monitor their reading fluency as well as comprehension skills.
My students need a Chromebook in order to have the opportunity to move around while they are learning.
A Chromebook will allow my active students the opportunity to move around the classroom while learning. I feel that having a Chromebook will promote a more positive learning environment for these students.
