Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing kids from all over the world! These kiddos come from many different countries and speak many different languages. English, for most of them, is their second language.

These sweet souls come to school day in and day out, often times having experienced some sort of trauma, food lacking in the household, bug bites, and unkempt dirty clothing.

Nevertheless, they persevere and succeed. I am always looking for new ways to help them succeed.

These sweet and innocent kids have experienced so much in their young lives and they have hearts of gold. My heart is so full of love because of them.

My Project

The Informational Texts Read Alongs that are being requested will be used in my listening area on a daily basis. The texts from Lakeshore Learning include topics on planets, dolphins, volcanoes, cheetahs and planets.

The bright photographs will grab students' attention and keep them focused and engaged on their listening and understanding of the text!

During the course of the visit, they will listen to the CD and follow along in their informational book. This will increase fluency, understanding of English, and basic book skills. Once this occurs these kiddos soar!
