My Students
The railroad, sewing machine, cotton gin... all of these invention had technological and social implications during the time of the Industrial Revolution. My students are eager to explore topics related to these implications but we need your help.
We are a diverse community located in Brooklyn.
Extremely excited learners, my students dive into social studies with great curiosity, Many are special education and english language leaners. With budget cuts hurting our access to resources we struggle to connect concepts and create engaging lessons. This is especially true in social studies.
My Project
This collection of books will allow me to create a timeline project that will connect concepts learned previously and currently. My students will learn research skills, non fiction texts features and gain understanding for what drives societal change.
Without these resources my students' learning will be composed of limited perspectives from the few books I have.
In addition, teaching to all my learners will be a greater challenge because my current resources are not accessible for all my learners. These books will generate excitement and motivation for my students to learn even more about the Industrial Revolution.
