My Students

The Chiefs and Lady Chiefs of SQHS are from a rural area located in Madisonville, Tennessee. Over 50% of our student population participates in the free and reduced lunch program. Many of our student athletes fit into this category.

Our school tries to help as much as it can; however, living in a rural community, athletic funding is not a priority.

With field maintenance, campus upkeep, transportation, and umpires, most of our funds are depleted. Therefore, we don't have extra funds to purchase needed equipment.

My Project

Our athletes work year around to ensure they are competitive. Having hurdles will help prepare our track team for their upcoming meets. They will be able to learn proper techniques and become quicker as they continue to practice. It will help the athletes develop explosive power, quickness and improve their overall agility skills! If we are able to obtain the hurdles, the students can become more confident in their skills during the track meet, which will enhance their overall performance!
