This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I work in a wonderful school with excited, motivated students. They always inspire me with their love of learning. Our school has a majority of high socioeconomically disadvantaged children. We are a Title I school with many cultures represented (mostly Latino and Vietnamese). Many of these students live in neighborhoods that tend to be unsafe and underprivileged which causes a lack of opportunities.
I truly believe in our motto of "preparing all children as global learners." I hope to give these students as many resources as they may need in order to become successful both in and outside of the classroom.
Your donations would truly be appreciated!
My Project
Each student in our classroom has their own iPad, but headphones are not provided. Many of the students aren't able to afford their own or aren't able to bring them to school for use. This can make for some noisy and confusing class times when everyone has their volume up to hear the various apps they are working on, specifically during math and science.
Individualized learning helps to keep students more engaged since they will have more confidence in the level at which they are learning.
This occurs when using the iPads. If each student had their own headphones they would be able to focus and hear what they are each specifically working on. This means there would be less distraction and more work getting done.
More than half of students from low‑income households
