This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Above all else, my students are eager. Eager to make a difference and to be the best versions of themselves. They not only encourage one another, but they encourage me, as well. They are thinkers, problem solvers, dreamers, and innovators. But most importantly, they are the future.
My vision this year is to foster a love of reading and literature by providing a safe and welcoming classroom.I would love to take my students on a field trip to see the heart touching movie "Wonder," a novel we have been reading every day.
This wonderful book teaches students the value of being kind to all. Seeing this movie would be a great treat for my hard working students!
My Project
The novel "Wonder" is a book we have been reading everyday to teach tolerance, kindness, and acceptance. This book revolves around a brave young boy named August, who was born with facial differences. "Wonder" teaches our children and students that what really matters is how you treat others. August faces the challenges of being bullied in middle school. The novel tells the story of August's challenges and how he is able to overcome them with the support of some truly kind friends. Please help us to see this heart warming film so our students can further understand the value of kindness.
