Help Us Have a Winning Basketball Season

My Students

Our students come from very low-income families, so they really don't get to experience a lot in life. Our school is a Title One school, but our teachers wouldn't want to teach anywhere else.

Our students are really great kids who want to excel and become great leaders and people.

It's a great thing that they can see themselves out of the situation they are in and into a much better one. They strive to do well and try so very hard to do a great job.

Sometimes working with these students is hard, but these kiddos just fill my heart with joy. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else, even when I have the option to work with students who do not have the limits that these students must deal with.

My Project

The Title I school is about 53% Black, 40% Hispanic, 3% mixed-race. All of them receive free breakfast and lunch at school. They are great kids that want to belong to a team. We are starting a girls basketball team and need these basketballs and ball pumps to have a winning season.

Having a sports team to belong to will be so good for them.

The coaches have made it clear that they have to be present at school, have a good GPA, and have a good attitude to be on the team. The girls that tried out for the team have all the above! What they lack is the resources that a basketball team needs!
