My Students
I am a kindergarten teacher in Northern Vermont and work alongside a lively and creative group of 18 children. Every morning, they fill the classroom with an energy and passion for learning and exploration. My class is especially interested in learning about the world and the characteristics of living things around them.
I hope to be able to give the children in my classroom community the most enriching and engaging learning opportunities possible.
Any help to make this dream come true for this wonderful group of children will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your consideration and support!
My Project
My students will use the incubator to make scientific observations and construct new understandings about embryology and the chick life cycle. They will be able to notice and wonder about the daily changes that we observe. The egg turner will help the project be successful with the hatching of healthy chicks, as students aid in the responsibility of making sure the eggs are rotated throughout the school week. The chick feeding set and the brooder lamp will allow students to learn about what chicks need to survive and offer students the opportunity to experience animal encounters with the chicks themselves.
The embryology project is one that I remember from my own early childhood experience and it is incredibly important for me to make this opportunity possible for my own group of students.
I know that this project will further inspire their love of learning and support the children in their budding careers as scientists and caretakers of living things in our world. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated!
