My Project
Pre-K is an opportunity for four-year-olds to step outside of the comforts of their families, some for the first time, and experience what goes on around them outside of their nuclear family. They are meeting new children and adults and learning new expectations. It is here where children really begin to develop social and emotional skills through role playing, problem solving, cooperative play and interactions with one another.
This school year in particular has been difficult for my students as they navigate how to manage their emotions and interact with one another in a developmentally appropriate way. Social and emotional skills are crucial to the healthy development of a child's interpersonal and intrapersonal skills as they grow and move through life.
Daily access to tools to support this growth in my classroom is invaluable as I will be able to give my students the foundation that they need to become functioning members of our society.
