Help Us Grow: Creating a Classroom Greenhouse for Budding Scientists

Help me give my students the supplies to create our classroom, counter top greenhouse!

My Project

My students are naturally curious and passionate about the world around them. They thrive on hands-on experiences—especially when it comes to science. Nothing excites them more than the chance to observe life cycles, make discoveries, and connect classroom lessons to the real world. That’s why we are eager to create a classroom greenhouse to bring the study of plants, propagation, and ecosystems to life right in our learning space.

The shelves will provide the vertical space and sunlight access we need to safely house our propagating plants, while the totes will be used upside down as greenhouses and to organize materials like soil, seeds, pots, grow lights, and water containers.

These simple yet essential tools will transform an underutilized classroom corner into a vibrant learning hub—one where students can dig in, get their hands dirty, and watch life unfold before their eyes.

Our greenhouse will become a living laboratory. Students will not only grow plants but also grow their understanding of biology, ecology, and sustainability. They'll take daily observations, record changes, ask questions, and form hypotheses. For many, this will be their first experience nurturing a living organism, and the pride and wonder they feel will stick with them long after the final leaf has unfurled.

Kids learn best when they can see, touch, and do. A classroom greenhouse isn't just about growing plants; it's about growing minds. With your help, we can give our students the tools and space they need to explore science in the most meaningful way possible—through experience.

Thank you for helping us bring learning to life!
