Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Excited, energetic and brilliant kids walk into the room each day eager to engage and share in the lesson. Working with a group of students who represent multiple Native American tribes is refreshing and fulfilling. Our students enrich our classroom as they weave knowledge of their culture and pride into the work and projects they produce in class.
Working in a school that not only provides 100% free lunch, but the opportunity to grow in their sense of identity is truly amazing.
Though many of our students may struggle with balancing a challenging home life with school life, they have high ambitions and we want to help them achieve!
My Project
Something you often hear in my class, "Numbers have no meaning without their units!" My students need these tools to help them understand the valuable information numbers and units can provide. Precision and accuracy are just a couple more skills I want my students to gain.
My students need measurement devices to make observations, record data and identify patterns.
Students will benefit by building confidence and understanding in measurement and its practicality as they conduct investigations.
Using a variety of measurement tools in my classroom will allow students to gather data and evidence necessary to predict, build models and develop understandings.
